Collect Domain Whois Data

Posted by admin 21 September, 2008

Hello,

We need this project done ASAP.

We are looking for a permanent employee.
Our company needs to compare our records with other records and here is exactly what we need:

We have a text file that contains a list of 30,000,000 domain names. Each domain is on a separate line and we need the contact information of these domain names extracted from the whois and saved to a .CSV file.

Basically, you will setup a script or software to connect to a whois server and query the domain names, and the results will be parsed to the .CSV file.

Some whois servers require you to enter a verification word after each query but some do not require that, so you can make a list of the servers that doesnt require the verification code and use those, some whois servers will block your IP if it sees you are connecting to it many times, so you just have to find a way to get around this, perhaps by using proxies or something else :)

Keep in mind that different whois servers will output the domain contact information in different format than others, and you have to be able to make all the information organized in the .CSV file, all the same way.

The information that we need you to extract from the whois of these domains are as follows:
registrant company name, registrant full name, registrant address, registrant city, registrant state, registrant zip code, registrant country, registrant email, registrant phone.

OR

admin company name, admin full name, admin address, admin city, admin state, admin zip code, admin country, admin email, admin phone.

So we would give you a text file that contains these 30 million domains, each domain is on a separate line and you would do the work we described above then give us the output in a .CSV comma separated file.

Many people said that they can do this, but after they tried they figured that they couldn
